in the beginning....

This is a photo I made of my parents when I was eleven years old with my first camera.

It was an Imperial Mark XII, made by the Herbert George Company out of Chicago.  My Dad still has it and I'm pretty sure it still works!

The camera came in an assortment of colors, and mine was the brick red model and used 620 film.

You've probably noticed that the horizon line is a bit skewed, which is something I still do today.

However, if you look at the tilt of my Dad's head, well...I guess that explains a lot.

  1. Great vintage look, and a stupendous sky. Would be interesting to see what kind of pictures you might get from the camera now.
